As a member of Wasco Electric Cooperative, you are now an owner in your rural electric cooperative. That is what sets us apart from other types of utilities, you are the owner - and you control the cooperative. Rural electric cooperatives, like Wasco Electric, are non-profit, private businesses and exist only to provide services - like electricity to it’s members at cost.

Northwest Voters Still Support Hydropower and Are Concerned about Rate Increases, Dam Breaching

As the region waits for a final decision from the Federal courts on the future operations of the Columbia and Snake River and the potential for a call to remove the four Snake River dams, I want to share with you the recent survey conducted by Northwest RiverPartners. It is clear from the results of this survey that the rate payers of the region are concerned about future energy prices and the impact the removal of these dams would have on future energy prices.
