I would like to invite each member to attend this year’s annual meeting on Saturday, November 20, at the Civic Auditorium in The Dalles. The doors open for registration at 11:00am and lunch will be served at noon.

We will have a catered buffet luncheon; musical entertainment; a guest speaker; reports from the board, manager, attorney and auditor; and the election of three board members for a three-year term.  We will also have door prize drawings held throughout the meeting.
The information booklets, including resumes of the candidates for election, the program of the day, financial reports and the ballots for election, were mailed to each member on November 1. The photos and resumes of the candidates can also be found on pages 4 and 5 of the Ruralite.
We look forward to seeing you at the annual meeting, however if you are unable to attend, please mail your absentee ballot to Secretary, DeOra Patton, c/o Wasco Electric Cooperative, PO Box 1700, The Dalles, OR, or drop them by the office prior to November 19.

BOARD MEMBERS RECOGNIZED

This past September at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) regional meetings, three Wasco Electric directors were recognized for their completion of the Credentialed Cooperative Director (CCD) program.
Mike Collins, Ron Holmes and Jim McNamee all completed the required courses this past year to earn their CCD certificate. They join five others as Credentialed board members serving as your directors.
The CCD program consists of five training courses covering Director Duties and Liabilities, Understanding the Electric Business, Board Roles and Relationships, Strategic Planning and Financial Decision Making which are modeled specific to the electric utility industry.
I sincerely appreciate the commitment your current board of directors have made to continuing their education in order to best serve the members of this cooperative now and in the future.
